My Quota spoiled me for locking hard bags, but wallet has horse collared me into soft bags. Maybe a hard top case.
I've only done a long weekend on mine and used a water proof duffle from Wolfman. I like soft luggage because it's cheaper, typically you don't need mounts (cheaper) and once off the bike, you don't have mount residue cluttering up the looks.
You may prefer to tour on the Sport vs. the CB (I find the Guzzi lump a nice fit for long rides). Although I tend to poo-poo the CB for touring, when I did use it I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was; I shouldn't forget that. Now, after hauling the CB in the pickup to the last rally I'm very very tempted to use the 650L for rally's, and just take everything in the truck. Problem solved!
I say that and I was thinking of taking the bike back to Minnesota for a high school reunion - if they have one this year. My mind says I'm still young. My bum says I'm a bit older.
