Definitely get an aftermarket exhaust if that will make the bike better for you.
As for me, I like mine stock. I also spent many years running drag pipes on various Harley's. Sounded great, loved it, put up with the ringing right ear.
And, the CB is not as quiet as you think it is. A while back I was out riding with a buddy of mine and another guy that he knew. This dude was on a sport bike. They were both in front of me the whole way. When we stopped sport bike guy commented 'I could hear your bike back there' the whole time. From in front, with a full face helmet on.
