When I went out on a limb and bought a Ural in ‘12 I bought the extended warranty, and considered it money well spent due to the brands reputation for poor workmanship and dubious quality. Never broke down and only warranty claim was for the u joint on drive shaft not having a grease zerk. Still don’t regret spending the money ($800), too many horror stories about that quirky and awesome bike.
On modern vehicles I am of the opinion that the engineering and craftsmanship are at a high enough level to render the extended warranty a poor investment for the consumer. A lemon will let you know quickly.
