^^^ That raises an interesting question: what are the pipes ‘supposed’ to look like after 100,000 kilometres of riding? I’d suggest that if Honda had expected them to be sparkling chrome, they would have fitted the double walled chrome headers found on the DLX and 2017 models. It’s a pity they didn’t.
