I've obviously been having a lot of fun with my new CB1100. At some point I'd like to take this bike on a long trip up the coastline in California but after an hour or so I find the stock seat uncomfortable and I keep sliding forward. I think the stock seat on the CB1100 looks perfect on this bike however and I am loath to change it. I ride two up on a regular basis so he gunfighter type solo seat would not work for me. I have had Corbin seats built for some of my other motorcycles and have been very happy with them, especially after they break in. Their catalog offering for the CB1100 on their website looked a little too different from stock for me so I called them up and asked them if they would build a custom seat, deleting all of the tuck and roll stitching, deleting the holes, mounting brackets, and leather flaps that are incorporated in order to accommodate their optional backrest, and with no welts. I wanted the leather Corbin seat to duplicate the smooth black vinyl of the stock seat as closely as possible. They were happy to make me a seat as I requested it and did not charge me for the modifications.
Although I've only gone for a short ride so far so I cannot comment yet on long-term comfort, this seat positions me farther back, does not cause me to slide forward, the leather seating area is more comfortable than the vinyl on the stock seat, and because of its shape a much greater percentage of my butt is in contact with, and supported by, this seat and it certainly seems more comfortable so far. The passenger part of the seat is definitely more comfortable as well as being slightly higher. The cost of the seat was $453, about the same as many of the non-custom seats that are not made of genuine leather that are listed on the Japanese websites.
The first three photos below are of my new Corbin seat. The second three photos are of the stock seat taken from the same angles. The last photograph is of the standard Corbin seat for the CB1100 incorporating their tuck and roll stitching which many people may prefer. All the best.

I ordered the chip beck spec seat three weeks ago, the big brown truck came and went, and left me a seat with stitching that I didn't want like there stock version, they did leave the back rest hardware off like they were suppose too. Looks like it will be going back to california....
