RS-3 Muffler Installation

It sounds "mean" at idle and has a low drone at highway speed but not loud enough to be a bother. Those that want more volume buy the 2013 muffler and remove the baffle. I cranked mine briefly when I had no muffler on and quickly shut it down--too loud for me! When I pulled back in my driveway, I picked up a strange burning smell. Thought to myself I've torched my side bag, but when I shut down, I noticed light smoke coming out of the muffler, so I didn't ride it long enough to burn off the protective oil on the inside. There was a statement in the directions about wiping down the outside with rubbing alcohol but no mention of the inside. Not to worry. It will burn out soon.
If there are enough requests, Yoshimura might make the left side muffler at some point.
