Yes exactly. I'm hoping the finished product is as streamline as I'm thinking it will be. I've heard good things about them and it's cheaper than getting the case for the quadlock that the bike came with.

Yeah I'm big on keeping the OEM parts around so I didn't want to drill it, but I found a nice black open nut for cheap enough.

I didn't try it on my own CB1100 (too lazy to pull the bars) but it's a good bet.

The steering nut socket size on all CB1100s is actually 30mm, like the open top nut.
Thanks for the info, I took the and think I found a suitable replacement, I guess we'll see in 2 weeks when the nut comes in!

Thanks for the knowledge dump guys. I knew there wasn't much that hasn't been poked and prodded on the cb in this group. Waiting for parts to come in now.
