Sorry if this has been covered before but, why did the rearsets need to be modified to fit the CB? were they made for another bike originally or?

The Sato Racing rearsets were made for the CB and are of very high quality, however they are designed to mount to the stock, trapezoidal shaped footpeg/passenger peg brackets. You don't have to modify them, but I wanted to tuck the new exhaust as tightly as possible to the bike, which meant the brackets had to go.

It was an easy choice for me; those brackets are pretty bulky, and I didn't like how that bump out looked from the front or back, and wanted it cleaner and more streamlined, and for the exhaust to follow the lines of the frame. The fabricator was able to mount the left side rearset with no plates at all (bolted directly to the frame) and the right side required a small bracket to be fabricated to mount the rear brake master cylinder.

You can see in the pic from the front that the exhaust hugs the bike closer than stock.

I like the black fenders so much I think im gonna vinyl wrap the front, do the rear fender but take the tailight housing off so the rear fender is easier/cleaner to wrap.

And instead of wrapping the taillight housing ill leave it chrome and mount it back ontop of the black fender. So the taillight would be chrome ontop of black. Will definitely break up all the chrome and not be a painstaking process of wrapping that taillight lol

That's going to look great! Yeah, the black fenders I think really look great on the all black standard. I was looking for a 2014 in black specifically, but had the right 2013 came along I might've bought it. I wanted a CB since they came out.

Had I gotten a 2013 in red/silver, I might be looking at getting them painted red, or using steel wool in all one direction to make the chrome look brushed/stainless and have them clearcoated.

Mvk - here's a pic of the headlight right after I applied the film. Its still a little cloudy, but it cured within a day or so, and now its crystal clear.

Never understood what that blzck X over the headlight was meant to do but it screams cafe racer to me whenever I see it lol

Ha - yeah I agree. I don't get the "X", but to each their own I guess (shrug)

I did have the old school Lucas looking tribar headlight in my Thruxton, which looked great with the throwback 60's style. Then I replaced that with a sealed beam LED headlight, which required me to extensively modify the headlight bucket, bezel, etc. What a time suck that was...it never ends LOL.
