If you haven't picked up a used CBR1000R front end and wheels yet, you might look for an ABS model. That will have a speed sensor on the front wheel, so should plug into the harness and solve the speedometer problem.

But it won't show the speed with the front wheel in the air. You wouldn't do that, would you?
