I actually prefer the sight glass. Never have been able to read a dip stick accurately, car or bike. Seems I have to wipe it and dip it 4 or 5 times before I am satisfied I know what the oil level is. Then there is the do you just put it in and pull it out, or put it in, screw it down and unscrew it and then read it?
Other than having to get down on my knees to see the site glass I find it far superior to a dip stick., but that's just me.
