Also I never did like that feeling of being in too high a gear should I need to make a sudden change in velocity for any reason, whether evasive or just for fun! ;-)

I have to say that I do like the sound of my Yosh exhaust when I downshift. If I'm not in 1st at a stop it's because I screwed up. I also hate that lugging feeling when I've been a gear (or two) too high.
