I can always here it when I am in 4th or 5th gear and I let the rpms drop down to 2.5k or less and then open her up to accelerate.

Not sure I agree there, Deanohh. When I briskly roll the throttle on at 2500 revs in 4th or 5th gear it pulls as strongly as it does at higher rpms; it doesn't feel like the motor is anywhere near to 'lugging.' 1k or 1.5k rpm would be a different story I'm sure.

I only mention it as yesterday I was marvelling at how forcefully and smoothly the bike accelerates from 2.5k rpm in 4th gear.
