So it took quite a while for me to get this installed...
I finally installed it last month, together with the heated grips and POSH flasher module (LED lights) because all of these involved removing the tank.
I am not sure how to add a description to each picture, so I will put them in sequence and start with pic1.
1- Extension cable for the alarm module connection to the bike;
2/3/4/5- I found a plug below the fuse box (over the battery) that had a cap and that is where I installed the extension;
6/7- Indication LED for the alarm status;
8- Checked all connections to the main alarm module (black connector -> LED and white connector -> SIREN);
9- Started installing the indication LED on the right side of the bike, running it along with the throttle cables;
10/11- The indication LED has a very long cable (black connector), since this alarm is designed for several HONDA models, so I got the length needed to reach the left side cover of the bike (where all connections are made) and used supplied cable tie for the excess;
12/13- Installed the alarm module (comes with a double side tape) on top of the air box and ran the cable down towards the left side cover area;
14- Connected the extension cable and indication LED cable to the alarm module harness;
15/16- Installed the siren right underneath the tank central area and connected it to the alarm module harness (white connector);
17- Initially installed the LED close to the lower front edge of the tank but couldn't see it while on the bike;
18- Moved it up so I can see when the alarm has been disabled.
The siren is not loud at all (maybe location and/or bad siren) so I ordered another on Amazon that is 125db. Should be here next week.
Operation is very simple:
a. Every time you turn the ignition OFF, the LED stays on for 60 seconds (alarm being armed) and then after the 60s, a short beep indicates that it is armed (LED starts blinking every 2 seconds);
b. If you move/shake the bike, siren comes on for a minute or so and then stops. If you do it again, siren comes on again and stops;
c. At any time if you switch the ignition to ON, the alarm is disarmed;
c. If you want to disarm the alarm while you stop to put gas (or any other situation), turn the ignition OFF, apply the front brake and hold, turn ignition ON, LED blinks twice (you can then let go of the brake) and ignition back to OFF position.
LED will be off indicating the alarm is disarmed.
d. It arms again if ignition goes from ON to OFF.
That's it!
