Why, when Honda recommends GN4 and 87 octane fuel, would you worry about using it?

I guess my only reason for mentioning the Actevo oil is that their claim to cling to metal for a longer time than other oils and thus helping with reducing wear on cold starts seems to imply that engine wear when cold starting after not having run for an extended period is a concern because the engine parts will be running dry for a short period before the oil pump supplies oil.

Searcher, I don't use GN4 all the time. I so use the Australian equivalent of 87 octane.

I was responding to what I read as slight surprise on GoldOxide's part that his bike started fine using the oil and fuel Honda recommended. I don't know, but I'd have thought that oil being the tenacious substance it is would mean that there's sufficient in all sorts of nooks and crannies for the engine not to be too troubled on start up.

Does anyone know if oil clings to engine parts indefinately? If so, all he "clinging technology" advertising is just hype and there will still be oil on the engine parts after sitting in the garage all winter. I remember years ago people used to recommend pulling spark plugs and squirting some oil into the cylinders before storing bikes for winter.
