Handle bar or risers
#1

I just bought a new 2014 CB1100. My first complaint is that the handle bars seem to far away, I'm over reaching and riding on the tank.
What is the best solution for this? I seems that the handle bars need to be swept back or risers installed to bring them closer to me.

Search on handlebar risers and you will find a number of threads showing member's pics that have installed them.

You can also loosen the clamps and rotate the bars down a little. I did that.

I searched on risers and here is one thread showing some pics: http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread....ght=risers

^ I would definitely try that first, before investing in other parts. You'd be amazed at how much just handlebar and lever adjustment can affect your position and comfort!

Im suprised being the bars have such a tall rise on them already. Lots of guys are wanting a smaller sportier bar. Rotating them is a good idea. If these stock bars were any taller i would think i was on a chopper, lol.

Provided you are in the USA, I have a set of 'up and back' risers you can have. They were off a Honda Hornet I bought years ago.

Take a look at GenMar Mfg. X102 risers. Your choice of aluminum or black coated, same price. I have them and moved the front brake line to the inside of the wire loom which holds the throttle cables.

In the past i've always liked a set of pullbacks on my CB's,not sure what they call them in todays world, harley calls them buckhorns, the older bikes had plenty of extra cable length, don't think my 2014 does though.

A number of members have put risers with setback on their bikes. Search around and you will find pics. There is usually enough slack to get by unless you want a LOT of setback. I'll search around some tomorrow and see if I can find some threads.

Depending on how much you need, you may be able to just rotate the bars down a tad. Thats what I did. YMMV.
