I hammered through the hole, you should work little by little. Increase the size gradually and test it till you feel happy with the sound

how did you manage that? drill? hammer it through?

Please correct me if I don't recall this correctly but with the '13's and '14's with the cat, Even with the muffler completely removed the sound is fairly well muffled. Most folks did not find any appreciable gain in sound quality modifying the stock can and went aftermarket - with most gains achieved when the stock header and cat were also replaced.

If memory serves, a Jim something offered up his stock '14 muffler for my project bike I bought from Paul. Once the For Sale thread went bye-bye I lost that contact. If they would PM me I would greatly appreciate it.

I did the hammering through and I honestly can’t hear a difference. What if I just made one large hole 25 or 30 mm?

I heard a rumour that for some countries, 2019 CB1100 will come without cat and muffler, for sound effect concerns...
Huh
ABSOLUTELY FREE air snorkel,.
Was installed once for 2 hr TEST ride only and removed.
You ONLY must pay for shipping.
Increases power.... UP TO 19 HP.......
Good luck to all concerned.
P.S. In case of multiple offers, I solemnly reserved the right to pick recipient of my choice. No returns.

This is what the 2017 tip looks like in a cross section.

Looking at how it's baffled, I think one large hole that you suggested should do the trick.

I don't know how you found that picture, but it is cool that you did.

@Saltani - Let us know when you have finished your mod. I'd love a Wyvern system but can't justify the cost.

Not true. With the stock muffler removed this bike (2013) is obnoxiously loud. I installed the Arrow slip-on (sans baffle) and she purrs like a panther now. Cool
