You know that ticking, clacking noise the bike makes?????

Well, I now have 800 miles on my bike and it doesn't do it anymore, no matter how hard I try.
The only thing I did was change the oil and filter at 600 miles to Silkoline 10/40 synthetic and I put on a Staintune.
Anyway, no more ticking, clacking whatever you want to call it.

I've switched my filter and i'm using GN4 10w40 but still hear the clacking.

Did you ever hear it after you put the staintune on ir did you make all those mods at the same time? Just wondering if it's the louder exhaust masking it.

If I put my ear right up to w/in an inch of the cyl. head I can hear it but barely.
Who knows?

I have the ticking but not the clacking....a little humming and some slight whirring.

I can always here it when I am in 4th or 5th gear and I let the rpms drop down to 2.5k or less and then open her up to accelerate.

Gentlemen,

I had several objectionable clacking and screeching noises coming from my bike but that stopped completely when I quit taking my girlfriend for rides! Now I can hear the wind and all of those great mechanical noises.

Not sure I agree there, Deanohh. When I briskly roll the throttle on at 2500 revs in 4th or 5th gear it pulls as strongly as it does at higher rpms; it doesn't feel like the motor is anywhere near to 'lugging.' 1k or 1.5k rpm would be a different story I'm sure.

I only mention it as yesterday I was marvelling at how forcefully and smoothly the bike accelerates from 2.5k rpm in 4th gear.
