As usual a fountain of information. I wax the tank about every ten minutes or so
and it is getting a bit difficult to get some friction. thanks!

I never heard of tank grips till I started track days / racing. Do you all decelerate that hard on the street?

not on purpose! actually i grip with my knees in curves and need a little more friction.

A few years ago one of the members posted a pattern for gas tank knee pads which I downloaded and printed. I glued the paper pattern to stiffer cardboard so it would be easier to handle and use.
I ordered two black magnetic sheets from Mag-Knight, traced the pattern, and carefully cut them out. They popped right into place and never move, but are easily removed if needed.
