Just a quick question gents. I'm changing out my left crank cover. I thought it was hollow.. but when I saw some pictures from here I noticed the gears . My question is is there a problem with transferring the gears to the new crank cover? On a 1 to 10. where would you rate the job? thanks in advance Calipo

This is an easy job, maybe a 4 or 5, but there are 2 areas to be especially careful. The starter gear cover and gear come of easily enough, as does the main cover.
The areas to pay particular attention are the routing of the alternator cover wires. If you don't have a manual, take pictures of the inside of the cover. The other area of concern is using the correct gasket sealant, not too much, but just enough so it doesn't squish out - remember, what squishes out also squishes inward.
Make sure the gasket surfaces are clean, and that you have sealant around the molded rubber grommet that the wires come through.

let us know how it went, or if you have any questions. And use the Honda or Yamaha gasket sealant, not just silicone. Good luck.
