Is balance shaft adjustment normal maintenance?

I don't have a maintenance schedule in front of me. Just wondering if there is a factory recommendation that specifies at what mileage to check and adjust the balance shaft lash?

Bob, my Honda Service Manual 2013-2014 does not specify when it should be adjusted as per p. 3-4 & 3-5/Maintenance Schedule.
Also, chapter Crankshaft/Transmission/Balancer - Backlash Adjustment - no word of service intervals as per p. 11-38, it just outlines adjustment procedure.... it says
* if gear produces excessive whine noise, the backlash is too small
* if ..................................rattling...............................excessive

I can't see anything on the maintenance schedule in the owner's manual.

The service manual tells you how to do it, but not how often.

So as long as you are NOT hearing that chuffing part at 2:31-2:32 in the video, no need to mess with the adjustment? I have not adjusted mine in 47,000 miles.
