Narrower Handlebars

I've been looking for a pair of slightly lower, narrower chrome handlebars that were the right diameter to fit the stock dampener weights. I had previously installed CB919 bars on my 2013, but they were 4" narrower than stock, and 1.5" lower. Fine on the highway and canyons, but a little too narrow around town.
So on my 2014, I raised the seat by having an upholstery shop almost an inch under the stock cover, so the bar to seat height was effectively lowered (and my knees were less kinked).
But the bars were still too wide, so I loosened and pushed the master cylinder and clutch cylinder as far inboard as practical. It was only an inch on either side, but to make a noticeable difference at freeway speeds (less of a sail), without losing the levereage around town. I did have to redrill the holes for the switch locating pins and for the bar weight retainers. Amazing how a little change makes a big difference.

Honda makes a type ii handlebar for the cb1100 that is exactly what you are looking for. Samurider sells it.

Yup. Love my Type 2 bars. A bit pricey but worth every penny IMO.

Yes, the Type II bars would have been almost exactly what you were seeking — before the seat mod that is.

In the end, your solution was probably better for you as you benefited from the raise in seat height. I liked the ratio of the seat height to handlebar height as the bike came from the factory. But a lower seat height worked to my advantage so I ordered both the Type II bars along with the lower Japan market seat.

Thanks Guth for that pic. It's pretty hard to compare handlebars verbally, and the pic answers a lot of questions. It looks to be the same bend, 2" narrower on the bottom portion. Samurider describes it as 70mm, which is about 2.75". Not sure if that means 70mm lower, 70mm height, or if it was meant as 70 cm, the width. I'll have to inquire with them.
