I just installed PCV with autotune. Had the autotune sensor bing welded in place. Reinstalled exhaust, started right up. Had a flashing check engine light of 2 long and 3 short which I believe is related to o2 sensor heating or something that I attributed to the factory o2 sensor not being installed. The bike was idling great, sounded good, revved great. Did the PAIR block to get rid of the pop. Took a test ride last night. Engine was warmed, easy ride through the country, slow speed through a neighborhood and everything was glorious. Ran through the gears fairly hard on the last stretch of road to go home. Pulled in the clutch as I pulled in the driveway and something was off. Thy e exhaust note sounded different. Pulled in the garage and there is a ticking sound coming from the engine and it starts harder than usual. Idle seemed a little lower than normal and sort of rough. Hoping to get some insights from the experts!

Did you install the O2 sensor bypass plug?
Did you load a base map file from dyno jets website into the power commander?
Did you set up an a/f target table for the auto tune?
What modifications does the bike have?

Stock exhaust with delkevic slip-on
-1/+1 sprockets
Found out about the 02 bypass plug this morning. So I’ll have to order one of those. I loaded the map for a yoshi slip-on. I did not set the target ratios. Would those things have caused a drastic change after running fine 10-15 minutes?

Install the by-pass plug.
Enable the auto tune in the power commander software menu.
Set a target table- even if you just start with 13.2 across the board except for the areas down low that dynojet leaves at zero.
Ride for 10-15 minutes, don’t rev in neutral, try not to use decel / engine braking. Go home, look at the suggested trim map- remove any outliers, smooth adjacent areas- then apply.
Go ride- repeat- once the engine is up to temp, try to make an effort to hit all the rpm positions at all the throttle positions. It’s harder than you think. I bought the POD300 dash add on just for this purpose. You will be amazed at what it can display if you are a data driven type of guy.
Go back to garage, look at the suggested trim map- repeat remove outliers, smooth suggestions- then apply.
Go ride again.
Repeat.
Repeat.
Repeat.

Most people don’t know the difference between “running fine” and running lean- so anything is possible.
Do what I said above, let’s give it the fuel it wants- and see what happens.
If the noise gets worse- shut her off and expect to bring it to a shop.
I doubt that is needed though. What was the outside air temp the day you ride?

Thank you! I’ll get back in the shop tonight after chores are done. I’ll keep this thread updated. Outside temp at time of ride was 82F

Bypass plug worked excellent. Rode most of last week zero issues. Just going in after rides and saving those tunes! Thanks for all the help. Now I have to get tires again. Down to the wear bars on the front, so it’s back to the ZG1000 for a little while.

Glad to hear. Just remember to look at your suggested trims before you apply- remove any odd ones, smooth the rest best you can.
What are you using as a target table? The standard 13.2 across the board?

Yep. If I get time in a couple days I’ll try to post what I have so far. Waiting on tires and my kids have stuff going on most nights and weekends.
