Los Angeles rider needed by superbrace.
#1
Superbrace would like to fit check their fork brace on a 2013 CB1100.
If you live in or near LA California and would like to help them out or want more info, pm me for the contact info.
I was going to do it but traded in my CB11 a few months ago.

I guess this explains why they aren't filling their orders for CB braces.

How are you liking that CB1000R?

Last year they were giving out December delivery dates. I was thinking of ordering one, but I'm not a big fan of plunking down actual cash on vaporware. Those folks that ordered must be awfully peeved by now.

I received an email from Superbrace on Tuesday afternoon that the CB braces were being polished and would be shipped out in a few days. For what that is worth.

No PMS yet, dang.
I'd expect Superbrace to hold on before they shipped any out and wait until they actually get a chance to fit one. Would suck for you guys to receive them and not be able to install them properly.

It's an awesome bike for me. I started out riding 2 years ago on a newer Nighthawk 750, after almost a year I decided to start looking for a 919 but then.... the CB1100 hit the dealerships....
I loved the CB1100 and I think eventually I'll find my self scouring craigslist for a used Deluxe Biker
I thought the 1100 CC's was going to be enough for me, but it wasn't.
The CB1000R is a lot quicker, comfortable enough (feels like I sit really high up though), 2 up riding is ok, avg mpg is about 40 but it has a bigger tank,
and I still have my license and am in one piece Thumbs Up

I would've loved to keep the Nighthawk AND pick up a used GSXR 750 or Daytona 675, but I'll be moving around a lot soon and don't really have the space for 2 bikes. The CB1000R satisfies my wants just fine and I'll probably keep it until I am able to have more than one bike.
Also probably the last time I get a brand new bike... too expensive for me.

I still have it stock, and am up to 3700 miles on it. Was thinking about getting the staintune pipe to really save on weight, but eh, that ugly exhaust has grown on me and I like it, I like having some money in my account too.

I'm in Glendale but I couldn't make it down that way until next weekend.

When our bikes first came out Superbrace sent me a template to make measurements, etc. I did the best I could and sent pics too. Never heard a word. They could have gone to the local dealer and looked a CB1100. Or at least I imagine they could have. They seem kinda clueless to me, YMMV.

Anyway, they have messed around so long on this that I have given up on them (even if they are polishing the braces now) and will ultimately order a brace from Mr. Takashi, even though it will most likely cost more.

Seems to me that if they they know the diameter of the top of the lower lower fork leg, then all they need is a distance measurement between them to make one. This is all computerized manufacturing isn't it? Plug in the numbers and let the machine do the work? Make 2 cuts, drill and tap a couple of holes. Heck even the Tuttles could have whipped one out in a half hour show lol

ferret,

Thats what I thought too. And I sent them all that and more--everything was on that template they send. Apparently it didn't help, and apparently they couldn't just go to the dealer. Or maybe it takes a long time to make one. I don't know. Heck, there was a machineist here at work that said he could whip one out pretty quickly. But he isn't here anymore Sad

And you're right about the half hour thing. If nothing else, TV has taught me that most problems can be solved in a half hour. Or maybe another half hour next week!
