I am wondering those of you that have or have had 13s and now 14s if you feel the extra weight? Weight it the enemy of all of us be it cars or motorcycles. I swung a leg over a 14 cb1100 standard (black) and really didnt notice any more weight than my NH even though I knew it had about 30 more. Now going up 70-75 could be a different story with the DLX. That is quite a bit more.
You know what, the 14 standard I sit on had no gas in it either or a battery and I rocked it back and forth to get a feel for it. Gas alone is around 25-30 lbs when full. No wonder it felt so light. A Nighthawk 750 is 500 lbs wet. That is my baseline.
I am a keebler elf so this stuff matters to me. Just curious if any of you guys with 14s dlx models noticed any difference to speak of?

I do not notice and I have both in the garage and switch off between them. It is not a light bike, but my BMW is heavier. However the BMW has a far better center stand and far easier to get up on the stand. I'm 58 and want to ride a long time, so a a weight training and exercise starts this fall.

I don't feel the extra weight at all when riding. I do think the 14 dlx is marginally harder to put on the centerstand than the 13, and I don't know if that is because of the extra weight or the redesigned centerstand.
I rarely use a centerstand... Usually for chain maintenance or for a particular picture circumstance. Other than that it's side stand for me.
My 750 Nighthawk practically jumped on it's centerstand on command by comparison to any other bike I have owned.

ABS contributes about 8 or 9 pounds to the delta between the standard and DLX.

The extra half a gallon or so of gas weighs a bit over 4 pounds as well...

The Canadian CB model is coded CB1100A and the wet weight is listed as 545 pounds/247 kg.

The CBDLX is really well balanced, doesn't feel heavy to me. Actually feels very light and nimble under way.

Asking how it handles at highway speed would seem to be asking how it feels in motion. However, I rode Ferret's DLX and I do not recall it feeling even a little bit heavier either in motion to stopped. It did feel smoother on the highway than my bike, but I think that was more about the gearing than the weight.
