CB1100 observation and advice needed

Hi TCBronson, If you are patient, there are plenty of pre-owned Cb's out there. I found one in Scottsdale, AZ. and I live in Portland, Oregon. A 2013 model in red with only 3500 miles on it one owner and it was always garaged. So, I took a road trip and drove it all the way home over 4 days. I did a facetime with the owner and we agreed on a price. Crazy huh?
The CB is everything and more for me. Plenty of usable power for either backroads or the super slab. I rode all the way home with no issues and no windscreen and smiles galore! The seat was fine for me and you'll be stopping for gas every 150 miles anyway.
When the the Cb1100 first came out in the U.S. I almost purchased new. However, I also knew if I was patient enough nice pre-owned ones would show up on Craig's and I saved just about half the $ than buying new. Honda makes a great product and this engine has a proven architecture. So just keep looking in and outside your area and one will show up. Russ

When I impulsively bought my 2014 Standard new, I didn't even know until after fact there was a Deluxe model, until the saleslady in an "oh, by the way" mentioned it. She also said the Honda shop owner was not planning to stock the DLX and had special ordered one for another customer. So, by not knowing what questions to ask, I missed the opportunity to have a DLX. However, I was trading a red cruiser I was tired of, so things evened out and I saved a grand or two. On another note (B flat) maybe it's a mental thing, but I wish the CB1100 had shaft drive instead of the chain.
