Looks like they got a new team of engineers over at Yoshimura. Can't wait for this to be available for the CB!

  Summer is on its way!

In the northern hemisphere, today is the Winter Solstice and the shortest day of the year. From here on, our days grow longer and longer and we inch closer and closer to the blooming of another riding season.

Anyone go on a all-day ride to commemorate this? I went to a Chrismas brunch were I may have had more than my fair share of Bloody Marys, so I'm recliner bound for the remainder of the daylight hours, but I'd love to read about others who were able to get out.

Bike wouldn't start today.. bad battery?
Posted by: PowderToastMan_imp - 12-21-2014, 07:44 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (23)

Hey guys.
I last rode two weekends ago, was out of town last weekend and didn't get to ride, and haven't been riding on weekdays since I've been carpooling with the wife.

Was going to go for a short spin today but the bike wouldn't start.. the starter motor made its sound for a fraction of a second and then went dead. My assumption was that the battery just needed to be topped up so I ran out and got a tender, and put the battery on charge while I watched a movie.

Tender said the battery was full after a couple hours, and I thought "wow that was fast" and went ahead and popped it back in and gave it another try only to find the same result.

Is it most likely that my battery is totally bad and this will be remedied by grabbing a new one, or do I have another problem with the stator or something?\

Edit -- Addendum:
The starter system has been a little quirky ever since I've had the bike. On the first start of the day it would start like normal, and on subsequent starts the starter motor would give a really short sound and then quit right away, but still enough to start the engine just fine.. a little weird, but I didn't pay much mind since the bike always started just fine otherwise.

Cheers!

My wife found this online and sent it to me. I didn't think I was that obvious. She knows me well.

  Precision Alignment.
Posted by: ride4now_imp - 12-20-2014, 12:42 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (8)

On pg. 8 of the December 2014 Motorcycle Consumer News, in the letters section, there's a letter under the headline 'Precision Alignment' about a problem with the writers new Honda CTX700 where he states that the handlebars 'weren't straight when the bike was going straight'. Stu Olman responds that this is more common than you might think and that the 'fix' is simply done by placing the front wheel near a curb and turning it hard into the curb. In a direction of course that is opposite of the problem. I have this problem with my CB and have had it since day 1. My 13 was fine...but my 14 has the issue. All this time I just thought it was me. Has anyone else had this problem and was the fix that easy?
