  e-cushion seat
Posted by: Novice_imp - 05-15-2015, 01:14 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (5)

I just noticed on the Samurider page he has a seat using Honda's new e-cushion material. Am I slow or is this new? Has anybody heard if this is much better than the "old" stuff or not? I've been thinking about a seat upgrade.

Questions about rev limiter and speed limiter.
Posted by: ChipBeck_imp - 05-15-2015, 11:39 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (13)

Gentlemen,

Perhaps some of our more knowledgable tech members can answer my questions.
1. Does the rev limiter work in every gear?
2. At what RPM does it kick in? (I assume beyond redline as I have accelerated to 8500 rpm without hitting it.)
3. Does the rev limiter cut the fuel or cut ignition?
4. Is it a hard or soft limiter? In other words does it shut ignition off completely like the engine is quitting or does it just retard ignition timing without killing it?
5. Does the speed limiter work the same way, does it cut fuel or ignition?
6. For those who have done it, what does it feel like when you hit the speed limiter? Does it stutter or just run smoothly at 112mph?
7. What does the bike feel like when you hit the rev limiter in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gear? You can't hit the rev limiter in 4th or 5th as you would hit the speed limiter first.

A lot of questions I know but I couldn't find answers using the search function. Thanks in advance.

Anyone have a positive experience with motorcycle shipping companies? I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a bike in Sacramento and ship it to Arizona. Thanks in advance.

  forkbrace?
Posted by: Southwend - 05-15-2015, 04:48 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (66)

I was behind a turbulent log truck the other day at 60mph gently weaving in my lane to avoid the occaisonal chip. I noticed a slight wobble as I was pulling the bike side to side through the turbulence. Not when i was straight, but when I was torquing the steering. Is this an correctable by fork brace?
It definetly felt like it was generated by the tire/fork/road connection it wasn't wind. I do not have any sort of fairing on.
What do you think.

This is my first picture I will have posted. This was last Saturday's ride that was a tad cold. It made me look forward to my Dart Marlin that I hope to have installed in the upcoming week. Thanks

Nice collection of Hondas for sale

I, in no way whatsoever, benefit from the sale of any of these bikes. I came across this ad while scanning Craigslist (this bad habit has cost me $$$ more than once!) and thought that some of you here would appreciate the bikes and pictures.

Do any of you guys know if Honda sells touch up paints that come in those paint pens you shake up and they have a metal tip and ball like an ink pen to touch up dings. Like car/truck dealers sell... thanksBiker
