Riding Across Eastern Canada ? 12 Days on 2 Wheels

Yeah, Peter's garage has been a bit crowded since last week Monday. The two Japanese ladies have had to share the space with a German traveler whenever they're not out on the road. So far, though, they've been getting along just fine.

We had these trips so far:

- Monday June 15: get the bike and test ride around the block
- Tuesday June 16 - Sa, June 20: Ride to and around Gaspe peninsula
- Sunday, June 21: Ride to Stayner
- Monday, June 22: Ride to Muskoka, Parry Sound
- Tuesday, June 23: Ride to Niagara-on-the lake and Niagara Fall
- Wednesday, June 24: Niagara but with car to walk around and enjoy the Niagara Falls in shorts and t-shirt.

So far, we've covered 4,564 km on the bikes.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but our days have basically consisted of riding, feeding both the humans and the machines, and getting some sleep before doing it all over again. There simply hasn't been much time left for posting.

More stories and photos will follow once we catch our breath!

And of course, I have to give a huge shout-out to Peter for his incredible hospitality. He's been an amazing host, and his local knowledge is simply unbelievable. Riding with him on his home roads has been a real privilege — he seems to know every curve, every viewpoint, and every hidden gem in the area.
Now, to be fair, the weather could have been organized a little better... but I suppose even Peter's influence has its limits.  :)

Looking forward to more!

Clearly, it was a fantastic trip. Is there a particular spot or road that resonated more with you than others? David

The best part by far was the friendship and camaraderie with Peter and sharing the entire journey together. As for the scenery, the coastal road around the Gaspé Peninsula was absolutely outstanding. I honestly think it's one of the most beautiful motorcycle routes in eastern Canada. Unfortunately, we weren't so lucky with the weather on the stretch to Matane and the day after. The temperature dropped to just 8°C (46°F), and then the rain started.

We also had a problem with picking up Django’s rental BMW due to location change, but we managed this as well.
.

Here is an update, day by day.

DAY 1, Monday

... indeed.
The Canadian Bike Rental website listed two locations in Toronto ON, but neither was actually operating.
After a brief phone call and some messages exchanged with the owner—who was in British Columbia—we were directed to a third, correct location where a BMW was already waiting for us...
We were warmly welcomed and received an apology for the mix-up...
It’s a really cool spot—Moto Cafe—that will appeal even to the most demanding motorcyclists...

That same day, Django asked for a test ride around the block, which ultimately ended up covering 200+  kms
Just before the test...

Django is BIG mile crocodile ‼️
:D

Man I was close before he dropped the Trans-Canada mileage bomb on me. Now I need binoculars to see him again and you're closing the gap behind me

Try the same trick we did... disconnect the speedometer cable from the camshaft and connect it to the crankshaft to get a reading of 2 miles for every mile ridden—since the gear ratio between the camshaft and the crankshaft is 1:2... :P

It’s hard to beat you, seeing as you ride almost every day, but I still have 1–2 long-distance routes up my sleeve, but not as long as the one leading to the Atlantic.

Day 2, Tuesday - Brampton, ON to Riviere du Loup, QC

There is not really much to report about 1050 km hwy sprint to Riviere du Lup, Que.
Google Maps

We had to stop for refueling every +- 280 kms, and Django enjojed drinking his rutine black coffee.
Finally after arriving at Motel Cartier, Riviere du Loup, QC and checking in, we cross the street to have a good meal with  :beerchug: of course.
