Original CB750's on Craigslist

[EGAlvarez_imp]

Please hold your fire! These are not mine, I don't know who is selling them, but I thought they were pretty cool and that someone here may be interested in buying them...
Have a great weekend, you guys in NYC enjoy the show. I have opted to skip it this weekend and head down to see it next month in Miami!

No fire directed towards you. Those bikes are beat. The price is about right but they're nowhere near original.

The '69's are the best year

Love those pipes...

[LongRanger_imp]

These were world-changing bikes when they were introduced in 1969, but today, they're probably best served by looking gorgeous in museums, living rooms, and bike shows. For any type of riding, I'll take my CB1100 over my ex-CB750K0 anytime. The 750 might be worth more, but not to me!

[Cormanus]

Golly, they were beautiful bikes. And still are!

I recently saw a 69' CB750 on ebay, the bid was up to 18,800! With just 4 or 5 bids.

[LongRanger_imp]

Yep, the one on eBay is a sandcast. I've seen them go for $25,000-$30,000.

[ClassicVW_imp]

I've seen a couple sandcast ones at times online for sale asking price close to 50K. Have no idea if they sold or what the actual selling price was.

[EGAlvarez_imp]

$50,000? Boy, that must have been a pretty beat up bike!

I admit to being somewhat naïve about what sandcast motors are. If that describes you as well, this may help:

I had no idea the first 1000 or so CB750's were mostly hand built in California. Huh.

[Chapomis_imp]

Thanks EG...I was just about to ask. Very interesting reading.

[capttwb136_imp]

Wow!!! $148, 000 dollars for a 1969 motorcycle. Some folks just have too much money.

[Inhouse Bob]

That's it. I'm parking mine in the garage and waiting 50 years. Oh wait. I don't have a garage

[LongRanger_imp]

Or 50 years.
