New Bike in the stable R 1200 GS

Who needs a coffee shop when you can have it hot at home in Ms. Ferret's coffee mug?

Re the GS12xx series, if one is inclined, it's it's a fantastic travel and commuting machine. I'm averaging over 1Kmiles per month on mine, and that's while still putting on about 500/month each on the CB and R18.
That's doing some ridin' Tommymck

Who knows? Maybe it is a northern hemisphere thing? In Ontario, Canada (probably most of Canada) it is common to find mostly HDs huddled together in front of a Tim Horton's (coffee shop) looking at their bikes, looking at each other and saying nothing.

Similarly, all other bike riders (but no HDs) doing the same, but speaking to each other. People would be talking around the CB1100 gawking at how well it was "restored".

It is also a thing to see Beemers herded together in front of a Starbucks, geared up princely, but speaking to each other. Starbucks is premium to Tim Horton's.
Tim Horton's serves real coffee. :)

I was unfamiliar with Tim Hortons so I googled it.
Turns out he was a 44 year old hockey player in the NHL who was killed in a high speed single car accident in February of 1974. He owned 30 coffee/donut shops in 1974.
He was returning home after a game and passed a constable at a high rate of speed at 5:30 AM
The constable states he was parked and began a pursuit but never turned on his lights or siren and thinks that Horton was so far ahead of him he didn't realize he was being chased.
He indicates he came upon an accident scene 6 miles down the road with the overturned car in the opposite 2 lanes of travel and Hortons' body was in the median and 123 ft from the wrecked vehicle, which he estimated was traveling at 100 mph at the time it left the roadway.

As Paul Harvey used to say, now you know the rest of the story,

... and all Mr. Horton wanted to do on his off time was to sell donuts 'n' coffee.

His first shop was set-up in 1964 just a few miles from where I live.

Unlike Starbucks, there is no Tim Horton's motorcycle. :D

Sadly, the deal for a free cup coffee for life for each Starbucks Parking lot I drove my Tim Horton GS tribute bike featured above fell thru when the Hortons Corporate office figured out it was 720 miles from the nearest Starbucks to me and the nearest Tim Hortons in Norfolk, VA. They said it had to do with demographics or something like that:huh:

Man, every time I see one of these ADV bikes, I can't stop to think, " ... what a tractor".

I think it is a fun opportunity Mscb1100.
What if you were to see an actual tractor?

Hmm, yeah Tod, ... it could be a matter of perspective.

The classic tractor just oozes torque. How sexy is that, eh? Hmm?

The two-wheeled "tractor" has less torque, but is more agile, unless it is pulling a trailer of hay bales. How unsexy is that? How unsexy is that with the Starbucks face on the fuel tank?

I can't get the image of a bunch of tractors pulling up to Starbucks for a pumpkin spice latte lol wonder if that's ever going to become a trend

Could be one day. Modern farms are massively going automated and affected farmers would have more time on their hands. :)

It’s E-powered, has training wheels, and costs less than US$150. What’s not to love?

Don't you like that it's a Beemer from Rollplay.com?

Can you rollplay and ride it to Starbucks? Or would you get shunned by the other Beemers for being a poser?

Would roll playing involve sharing the Starbucks riding hoodie?

Actually, there are cliques within Beemer groups that shun their own.

Starbucks - quote

In 2020 Starbucks committed to a resource-positive future, formalizing environmental goals to cut its carbon, water, and waste footprints by half. As a progression against those goals, the company commits to Carbon Neutral Green Coffee and to conserve water usage in green coffee processing......blah blah blah
