Remember the Dutch GP at Assen is run on Saturday instead of Sunday. Don't forget to set your DVR.

Aliex Espargaro was fastest in yesterday's practice besting the lap record set by Casey Stoner. Not bad for an independently sponsored Yamaha.

Thanks for the heads up. Watching the qual now that you've jogged the memory.

Cheers

The racetrack was built near a church. They decided to not race on Sundays so church goers wouldn't have to fight traffic to worship. Pretty cool.

Rain fell during qualifying. Times way down compred to FP4. Aleix Espargaro grabbed pole ahead of Marquez and Pedrosa.

Iannone and Crutchlow and Smith on row 2

Dovisioso, Bradle and Lorenzo row 3

Bautista, Pol Espargaro and Rossi on row 4

Uggg rain race... What a cluster

15 laps to go and rain is again threatening.

well, that was interesting. wasn't paying enough attention..why was Rossi on pit road at the start?

Dithering about what tyres to run on I think.

Crazy race. For a supposed Yamaha track, the factory Yamaha team disappointed.

When does Ducati get the stricter rules?

I believe after 3 rd podium. Wonder if there will be team orders now to back off?

Btw did you see the coverage of Marquez turning left at a 60 degree angle at 189 km/h ( 117 mph) ... GADS!

All 3 races were exiting. Moto3 had a dry race but a lot of crashes. Felt bad for Jack Miller. Fenati had an eventful race, going off track and dropping to 30th, climbing back into 5th, and then crashing out. Jack probably felt bad about that......:)

Rossi may have won this race if he had started on dry tires as he originally intended. The slowest qualifier started on dry tires and as the track dried he was 8th. Rossi made the switch to wet after the warm up and had to start from pit row yet still managed to finish 5th and at one point had turned the fastest race lap. The rain and the strategies used to deal with a wet then dry track have more to say than the brand bike. Aliex Espargaro was able to dice successfully with Pedrosa for much of the race despite being on a "customer" grade Yamaha. Marquez was again the Super Alien, dealing successfully with everything the weather and his challengers had to offer and making it all look easy.
