Forum text editor
This page explains the icons used in the XenForo rich text editor. They're used to insert BBCode in the background to enhance the appearance of forum messages. The editor appears in different configurations depending on available screen space so, when you see the vertical elipsis icon click on it to display other options.
On this page references to a message are references to posts or direct messages
erases text formatting
toggle bold typeface

allows the insertion of snippets of code inline in a message
obscures text in a message so it will be displayed only when selected by the reader.
