2017 ECU Flash question
#1

Hello all.

I have just completed my 600 mile service on the bike and starting to become more familiar with it and all of its pro's and quirks (if you will).

One thing I have really noticed is throttle hesitation at certain times in my rides. Coming from the Kawasaki z900RS only amplifies the experience for me. Dont get me wrong, I really enjoy the bike and find it very comfortable and I know there is more power to be had with optimal tuning.

I have been reading threads about re-flash service and seem to only find reference to 2014 and older models... maybe I am overlooking some threads?

Thanks for your time

I can't remember anyone on a 17 having it done and reporting on it in the forum.

There was some discussion a while back about getting Guhl Motors to reflash the 2017 ECU to eliminate the factory 112 mph speed limiter. I don't recall whether anyone confirmed that Guhl can reflash the 2017, and what is to be gained. It might be worth an inquiry to them. http://www.guhlmotors.com/

Kalamari are you perhaps ( reading between the lines ) referring to the slight stutter that happens on a steady light load below 3500 rpm when the e.c.m. leans out the fuel mixture and can be carefully cured by an oxygen sensor eliminator as described by ferret and others?

and the new experience on a 2017;

or is your situation different?

Max , you are right with the stutter , I have this sometimes coming down hill in third gear and it disappears when changing gears (up or down !)
A while ago I did have the O2 sensor eliminator installed and the check engine light came on . Took them out again and had the code reset by a Honda dealer.

That could be about right... I just notice hesitation at times... I am probably certain that rpms have been generally down around 3 grand... It is in situations where I may be riding like a gentleman then wanting to ramp up anotch to either switch lane or overtake. Just seems like there is a delayed response from the bike to kind of wake up. I know this bike isnt geared to be too aggressive - its about the response though.

Ill check it out

thanks
