Hi there! Greetings from Music City. I just bought a used CB1100 2013 from another forum member here. Everything’s working as it should. On my test ride I noticed that the digital clock was missing the 2nd minute counter. It would be kind of intermittent showing time like 1:4 , instead of 1:40. Sometimes part of the 2nd number would show 1:4- for 1:43 etc.
The bike is amazing so that little issue didn’t deter me from owning the bike. But I just thought I’d post it here. If it’s an easy fix or a cheap part that needs replaced that would be awesome. If it’s going to be a big deal, I’m happy with it as is.
Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the forum bertypower. It's good you're enjoying the bike.
That's the first time I've heard of that fault. I'm sure one of the members learned in electronics will provide you with advice sometime soon.

Berty congratulations with your new to you bike.
Cormanus i have to confess the fact that i have a similar problem on my lcd display, so sorry to leave that out mate......
In my case the last digit on the odometer is fading in and out, initially it displays normal but later on it fades away.
The problem lies in the contact area of the etched glass, all digits have multiple segments and common contact points,
for instance an eight has seven segments which can be individually switched on to represent the correct number.
they also have a common connection, the "cathode" which is the opposite backplane conductor, so depending if individual bits lose contact or the common one parts or the whole digit stop working.
It's a very delicate structure ( including a "zebra" conducting rubber connector which makes all the contacts under light pressure ) that connects the glass lcd screen to the printed circuit board of the instrument panel and has some risk of loosing more contacts if the re-positioning and cleaning of the parts is not successful which is why i just live with it.;
Our lcd is a custom design part specifically for our bike.
Hope that explains our issue, welcome to the group.

Howdy and welcome to the forum.
As usual Max is on top of these things.
Weird problem to have. New one for the board as far as I remember.

Ah, well, max. I'm wrong again. I assume the entire part has to be replaced? Not cheap, methinks.

I pretty much ignore my clock anyway. It loses about 10 minutes per week. It's done that since I bought it new. And I've replaced the battery along the way. I just got tired of resetting it. That's what cell phone mounts are for.

Thanks so much for the info guys. Funny enough, I was explaining it to my wife and I was like “look”... sure enough the clock was showing all digits. Lol.
Came back later and the last digit was off again.
It’s not worth it to mess with it. I appreciate the info on this. It’ll probably just start working again at some point... or not.
a non issue really.

It would drive me nuts. But saving US$900 would help me come to terms with it.

Unfortunately I have the same problem on the clock, odometer and trip meters.
So it is not fixable?
I was hoping it would get better on it's own
