OK, I'll ask the first question.
I have not taken delivery yet so do not have the owner's manual.
What specific Honda oil does the manual specify for the CB1100
When I bought a Honda scooter the dealer said regular Honda oil. It actually used the High Perf. semi-synthetic and they were surprised. So I thought maybe someone with the bike could look.
Thanks.

I believe it is good old SAE 10W-30.

Guth,
I stopped by the dealer and got the owners manual. Sure enough, you are right. But it says you can use the PRO Honda GN 4 oil on page 122. I'll probably go with that.

What is really important when it comes to oil for this bike is that it has the MA sticker on it from Jasso

The service manual says it's ok to use 10w40 when the average temp in your area is high, which is a "duh" to most of you....it wasn't for me though haha

I use Rotella oil in my truck and jeep 5w40 syn, and 15w40 trippl conventional oil both are jaso ma and also service rated for diesel ..I believe a gal of 15w40 sells at Walmart for $13. Along with the Honda oil filter this might work..

A lot of guys on a lot of forums use the Shell Rotella T 5-40 semi syn. I use it in my FZ-1 with Supertech filters, but for some reason, I use Honda oil and filters in my Hondas.

I used the Rotella T6 5w-40 synthetic (to deal with summer heat) and the Honda filter. In cooler months I'm fine with regular Rotella T 15w-40. T6 is only $7/ gal more than the dino version.
