Oil - Lord Popgun - 04-13-2013 OK, I'll ask the first question. I have not taken delivery yet so do not have the owner's manual. What specific Honda oil does the manual specify for the CB1100 When I bought a Honda scooter the dealer said regular Honda oil. It actually used the High Perf. semi-synthetic and they were surprised. So I thought maybe someone with the bike could look. Thanks. RE: Oil - Guth_imp - 04-13-2013 (04-13-2013, 10:25 PM)Lord Popgun_imp Wrote: OK, I'll ask the first question. I believe it is good old SAE 10W-30. RE: Oil - Lord Popgun - 04-15-2013 Guth, I stopped by the dealer and got the owners manual. Sure enough, you are right. But it says you can use the PRO Honda GN 4 oil on page 122. I'll probably go with that. RE: Oil - CA200_imp - 04-15-2013 What is really important when it comes to oil for this bike is that it has the MA sticker on it from Jasso RE: Oil - CA200_imp - 04-21-2013 Opps!! To many ssss - it's Jaso RE: Oil - redReno_imp - 05-07-2013 The service manual says it's ok to use 10w40 when the average temp in your area is high, which is a "duh" to most of you....it wasn't for me though haha
RE: Oil - jmc1100_imp - 05-08-2013 I use Rotella oil in my truck and jeep 5w40 syn, and 15w40 trippl conventional oil both are jaso ma and also service rated for diesel ..I believe a gal of 15w40 sells at Walmart for $13. Along with the Honda oil filter this might work.. RE: Oil - the Ferret - 05-08-2013 A lot of guys on a lot of forums use the Shell Rotella T 5-40 semi syn. I use it in my FZ-1 with Supertech filters, but for some reason, I use Honda oil and filters in my Hondas. Along with the Honda oil filter this might work.. I used the Rotella T6 5w-40 synthetic (to deal with summer heat) and the Honda filter. In cooler months I'm fine with regular Rotella T 15w-40. T6 is only $7/ gal more than the dino version. RE: Oil - jmc1100_imp - 05-08-2013 Are we better off using the full syn 5w40 or conventional 15w40 Rotella..Which is more important the viscosity number or synthetic component Thanks for any imput.. |
