Just a question on the ABS brakes.
Is the 2017 Canadian a linked ABS braking system?
If linked, how does it work?
Any comment will help

Hi i live in the uk and have a 2015 abs EX, pretty sure the new 2017 version worldwide will have abs as most markets demand legislation that any new bike has to be fitted with ABS. The linked system works that when the rear brake is applied the front brake is partially deployed by using 2 of the caliper pistons,i personally find it a good system, hope that helps

The ABS models thru 2013 had linked brakes, but the updated system on 2014 models did not have linked brakes. So for the current ABS system, the brake lever only operates the front wheel and the brake pedal only operates the rear wheel.

There are easy ways to check. Count the number of brake lines going to each caliper. If there is only one brake line going to each caliper, then the brakes are not linked. My '13 w/ABS has 2 brake lines going the the right front caliper. One is from the front brake reservoir and the other is from the rear brake reservoir. There is only one line going to either the left front caliper or the rear caliper. So the rear brakes are linked to the right front caliper. Another way is to put the CB on the center stand and spin the rear wheel and apply the front brake lever. If the wheel stops spinning then the front brakes are linked to the rear. To test the front wheel, you'll need a friend to sit on the back of the bike to get the front wheel off the ground. Spin the wheel and apply the rear brake. If the wheel stops spinning, then the rear brake is linked to the front.
My ST1300 has 2 brake lines going to all the calipers (2 front and one rear) so the front calipers are linked to the rear brake and the rear brake is linked to the front calipers.
EDIT: How does the system work? On my '13 CB, the front brakes have 3 piston sliding calipers. When I apply the rear brake, the rear brake caliper is activated (obviously) and the center piston on the right front caliper is activated. When I apply the front brake, the 3 pistons on the left caliper and the 2 outer pistons on the right front caliper are activated. On the ST, applying the rear brakes activates the 2 outer pistons on the rear brake caliper and the 2 center pistons on both the front calipers. Applying the front brake activates the 2 outer pistons on the front calipers and the center piston on the rear brake caliper.
