On the subject of battery life and heat, I have to mention that I live in one of the hottest places in the US, near Phoenix, Arizona, and have never seen a problem with battery life due solely to heat. Common daily high temperatures here from mid-May until the end of September are 105F to 115F. The batteries in all my vehicles last at least three and usually closer to five years. I have a 2017 Honda CRV (battery died at about three years), a 2000 Ford F-150 that usually requires a battery at a little over three years, a 1923 Ford with a six-volt battery that lasts about four years. The other two motorcycles got over three years life out of their batteries and the Miata, which was killed by a twenty-ton gravel truck, got at least three years and I am thinking it was closer to five years out of it's battery. While all my vehicles are garaged except the truck, my garage is unbearably hot in the summer. All the batteries are common lead-acid batteries available at any automotive parts store. Hope this helps.

That is very short life for battery.
I live in Ontario, and my car’s battery life is almost 10 years and for motorcycle about 5 years. Normal, acid type.

An old school lead-acid battery can last up to 25 years if prudent care is taken. Farmers do this all the time with equipment. However again, battery quality is important.

Good points. I have lived in very hot places for so long, I have become accustomed to batteries needing replacement in 3-5 years. That is usually the warranty period too.

My 2014 is on the original still. I think the battery should probably be replaced at some point, maybe. I will probably grab a gel replacement if that matters. Seems to be a solid middle ground technology between lead-acid and lithium from everything I have read.

A bit outside our budget but these are the batteries G.O. probably means, they stand in banks on the floor of a telecom exchange To maintain 52 volts ( negative with respect to ground ), are on constant float charge in a ventilated room 100% on-line and have a design life of 20 years, the plates however are 8 mm. thick and the enclosure is glass, very heavy and expensive .
They need topping up with de-mineralised water and are tested on a regular schedule; https://www.exponentialpower.com/stt2v700.html
