A lot of the aftermarket Yuasa are "fake" ones .

And by aftermarket you mean any Yuasa's that are not made in Japan? Their US plant is in Laureldale, PA and I just find it hard to believe they would make an inferior product there as opposed to those made at the Japanese plant. There are plenty of Japanese companies that manufacture in the US as well as Japan. Am I also to believe that a Toyota manufactured in the US is inferior to one manufactured in Japan? It just doesn't make any sense to me.

All my "Made in U.S.A." Yuasa batteries seemed to last forever for me - that is, I never replaced the replacement battery. However, those were mostly the old wet cell Yuasa batteries and not AGM types.

My '14 STD has an AGM replacement battery for the 4th or 5th year...so far OK. Will see in spring how good it is.

With the fake ones I mean the Yuasa batteries on Ebay too cheap to be any good or be true Yuasa .

I really wanted to put a Lithium battery, but I couldn't find one that the physical size fit in.
I bought in December 2021 a Xtreme Z12S 12V 210CCA AGM Powersports.
Hoping it lasts a long time, but only time will tell.

Power 'er up this Thursday or even Friday [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/member.php?action=profile&uid=3454]PB, and then you will know.

For an even better performance test, park the CB1100 outside overnight, perform the test in the morning before you ride out.

Can't think of a better test other than a 40C+ summer test after an hour of riding and leaving the ignition accessories circuit on for 20 minutes, ... then starting 'er up.

Nah, no need, both are deeply sleeping in winter mode.

I wonder if I got bit by one of those. I replaced the Yuasa in my Bonneville two years ago with one that was really cheap from either Ebay or Amazon, have to go back and look.

It's now too weak to start if I let it sit for more than a few days off of a tender.

I did get a set of fake NGK plugs a while back for the family car. Started running rough a few thousand miles later, and the electrodes had melted.

Beware the post-sleep spring lull. Don't get caught in the dawg daze of summer [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/member.php?action=profile&uid=3454]PB.
