MR, you really surprised me with the heated grip icon on the dashboard.
I took a photo of the dashboard from a different angle and I must admit that it is there, but it does not light up (the bike is not running/the ignition is ON)

2014 STD
I do not know if this issue is related to this sub-harness that has not been istalled?
I will examine the dealer-installed OEM heated grips in the spring.
I do everything myself except installing tires and h/grips.
Additional info:
I'll check my DLX, but I don't recall seeing any heated grip icon on the dash?

Thanks for the information. The light does not come on when the heated grips are on, only when you turn the key and the gauges/dash zero/reset.
Thanks again for the information, I wish I could have bought this bike stock so I would know all the mods done but thankful for everyones help figuring out what PO did. So far liking all of his mods, however just want to know whats all there lol.

Honda doesn't provide any wiring diagram when it comes to the heated grips and dash icon.
Shame on Honda!
We could read from the diagram to find out how it is connected.

Darn, thanks for looking into it! Its gotta communicate somehow with the handwarmer, why else would they include that in the display?
Do you have the sub harness on yours pb? I wonder if there is an unused pin for the main harness that the sub uses to communicate? I'll try to look at mine more this week if it warms up at all.

I paid for both sub harnesses for my std and dlx, see bill.
Have one that wasn't installed in my dlx, see pic
I'm not sure if it was installed in my std, I'll check in spring.

Here is some kindergarten diagram for CFR300, and the grip icon is left blind
Here is a professional look of a real electrical diagram: pin location/male-female and numbering, power supply, grounds and all connections:

Well there ya go! I figured I couldn't be the only one to notice the indicator.
Kinda a darn honda feeling! But really doesn't bother me too much. Glad I didn't personally shell out the money for the heated grips to find out they don't display correctly.

Yes, we already have a red indicator in the left h/grip.
