I'm only getting around 38 MPG... Stupid torque is too much fun. Hmmmm....youngest....least gas mileage...correlation? Been there and done that myself. One of my buddies had a Yamaha Warrior and he hammered on that thing constantly. He was getting 26-28 mpg out of it. Now thats pretty bad for a motorcycle. He has since gotten a lot older (like I havent) and can get 50+mpg out of a Victory 106 under the right conditions. Funny how that age thing works. That's some spectacularly bad gas mileage, even for a Warrior. I've got an '09 in the garage next to the CB, and even when I'm hammering it I don't normally get below 33-34 mpg. On the same bike with SWMBO on the back, I get 48-52 mpg, depending on traffic. My last fillup on the CB (2 hours ago on my way into work), I got 43 mpg. I only really commute on the CB, no highway, but I work nights and only go about 11 miles so traffic isn't usually a huge issue. Just all the red lights I end up stopping at.

I bet he's rubbed his footpegs down to nothing though... You don't need to use up too much gas for that.

Fourth tank: 49.7

I must be doing something terribly wrong. I only got 30mph last tank. Never got the rpms above 5k either. Although most of my rides are under 10 minutes in lots of stop and go traffic.

WOW jimigalahad thats wild better check your # again. Last tank I got 53.46 mpg and that was when after I got sick at a rally
and beat my way home at 65 - 70 mph all the way home. I filled at 152.7 w/ 2.86 Gal with the fuel light flashing at 146 miles . Has anyone got more the 3 gallons in a tank yet ? I haven't

Nope, those numbers were right. I think I'll take her out on a long highway ride this weekend and see if I get different figures.

I believe my record is 151.6 miles and 2.9 gals. Gypped was getting 43 in a situation just like yours jimigalahad, a couple of posts above yours. 11 mile commute of stop and go traffic. Blipping the throttle at stops, jack rabbit starts and stops all contribute to poor mileage.

I quit paying attention to the gas gauge and started going by mileage on the trip meter. Last 4 fillups have been between 3.3 - 3.4 gallons, with (presumably) 1/2 gal left in the tank. My in town mileage has been pretty steady at about 42 MPG, so I pull over for gas when the trip meter is between 135 and 140 miles. |
