Seem to me this bike is 600 lbs not 540, compared to the BMW R1200R, it feels much heavier at lean angle; compare to the Yamaha FZ1, it feels 100 lbs heavier.
Does anyone really weight the bike on scale for the real number?
I guess to some people it could feel heavy. I've been riding a Honda Valkyrie for the past 16 years (still do) so my CB feels rather light to me.

Hey all - first post - but gotta agree, its heavy. Compared to my GTR1000 it feels more difficult to manage. Fell in some sand the other weekend and found that I needed assistance to get it up. Wheels kept running away in the soft sand!

"it feels heavy" is not the same as the weight of the bike. I always feel the weight on an angle during abrupt stop while the steering was at an angle. some bikes that are much heavier feel light when I rock the bike side to side. It might be my own imagination, it feels real at 0 MPH
the BMW R1200R feel MUCH lighter even it is only 30 lbs lighter, might be the center of gravity is lower. for comparison, you should try both bike.

I was concerned with the weight feeling of the CB at first, but as soon as you start to roll she feels light and nimble to me. I guess it's all about getting a feel for it. I almost dropped it at the gas station last week, stupid me forgot to put the kickstand down and started to get off, was able to just barely man handle it back up, the mirror caught the hose on the pump hanging down, but no damaged it did not go all the way down, embarrassing

Just went out to measure, from center of front axle to center of rear axle 59 1/2".

wow...it is 5 1/2" shorter wheelbase than my VF750 Magna (65" wheelbase)...which weights in at 540 lbs. thanks.

Funny discussion... I owned a Transalp before which is roughly 25 kg lighter than the CB 1100. But from the very beginning, I thought the CB is lighter. The handling is easier than of the Transalp.

That's my impression too. When I first bought the bike it seemed light compared to my Harley Electra-Glide and BMW K1600. I'm talking about sitting on them at a stop or pushing them around the garage. No surprise there, but I have to say the Beemer is the lightest handling of the lot. Much of the weight is low due the the forward tilt of the 6-banger and steering geometry plays a big role there. The CB is small and rather spare compared to the others - something I really like about it. It's buck naked!

I like the "butt-nakedeness" of the CB1100 too...but the relatively short wheelbase is concerning me a little, as this will make her less stable cruising compared to a longer wheelbased bike. short WB means the bike can be tossed more easesly, and I am not sure if the purpose of the CB1100 is to be tossed around....as a Gixxer is. cheers
