Wow. I wasn't around when this thread was active. Neat to read through.

70 year old self employed sales. Wanted a CB1100 since I first saw one several years ago. Finally settled for a '14 Standard picked up in February. First bike was a '67 Honda Super 90.

42 year old retired Air Force aircraft electrician. Spent the first 11 years on the mighty C-5 Galaxy and ended up with a bunch of office jobs as I progressed up the ranks.

Made a good real estate decision when I joined the service and was able to be retired and stay retired at age 40. It's amazing being able to stay home and watch my 8 year old daughter grow up. Been married for almost 11 years and have a life beyond what I could ever deserve or imagine.

I bought my second FJR (first one was my fathers and bought it off him, was an '06) as a retirement gift to myself and that bike suits me perfectly. Wife said I needed the 2016 bike as the cruise control is a Godsend for me and helps alot with my carpal tunnel. I've owned over 30 bikes and it's the perfect bike for me.

Ironically, I bought the CB when I went to visit my sister in Oklahoma for her retirement party from the Air Force last October. I saw it on marketplace and the seller lived about 1 mile from her so was a perfect coincidence to get it.

73 and still workin' for the man every night and every day. Retirement Plan A did not work out, but I'm hoping this is last job I will have. Technical writer, working in digital industrial controls. I learned to ride on a CB350 and have been a Honda fan for decades. Three Honda cars, two Honda outboards, Honda generator, and four Honda bikes. The CB1100 is the epitome of a standard motorcycle. It's proportions are just right, with plenty of power, handles well enough for me, and easy on the eyes. I get a comment on the bike pretty much every time I ride it.

I'm in my mid-sixties and consolidated my modern 2014 CTX700 and vintage 1982 Yamaha XJ650 Maxim into one bike, the 2016 CB1100.
