Well I have to be honest! Me & Red did bump heads once BUT after that we was ok. He does know a lot about bikes, motors etc. To me he was blunt but most of the time knew what he was talking about! He did help a lot of members and to me that's what a forum is about! Again sad but true this thread should not even be here by the rules & laws of the forum it's not CB or motorcycle related! But to me I like this thread to be able to check on our friends and members! I know I started a same thread about tortuga! It can get confusing what you can and cannot post about when it was put to me cut & dry if it's not CB related it will be locked up. If we don't like it leave and most everyone agreed on it. But while this thread is still active. I wish Red the best and hope I get a PM from him saying if he is on another forum!
Tyke57nz: you was rite 3 motors!! I think he did the 2 motor first then went to 3 Russ Collins was a bad man
The other bike is a 2 motor bike

The irony is that Red Mist contributed some of the most detailed motorcycle-focused content we've seen around here. Fortunately, RM was not involved in an accident. Unfortunately, he had grown tired of a few folks who seemed to be more interested in making wisecrack comments than anything else. As ferret mentioned, he didn't feel like the time he was putting into this place was worth it to him any longer. I personally was saddened by his decision and wish things had worked out differently.

Guth. Red was not a crazy type of guy to cut up like some of us. And we all know who we are! But people did get very good info from Red, I know he got tired of the silly stuff some would say but Red did know mostly what he was talking about. It's a shame that one of our best tech guys left. I hate to see any member leave! I wish ole Red the best and I hope he just jumps rite back in here with us!

Mr. Red Mist,
Your comments are always some of the best. If anything I said contributed to your feelings about the forum I apologize.
Maybe you weren't aware that specific members could be added to your block list.
The forum is going to evolve over time and I have confidence in Ferret and Guth to keep it on a high level. Your contribution is valuable and if you don't participate we will be the poorer for it.
If you are not checking in here, I'm not sure you will even read this, but I hope you do at some point.
Greg

Maybe the new Calamari guy is Red Reborn?
I used to like his bluntness. He was one of the very few around here not to pussy about, kiss ass or tread in eggshells. None of which I'm particularly keen on either.
I'm sure he will return. Unless he doesn't.

And so do I. Seemed like a good bloke who enjoyed a bit of to and fro. I join Cormanus, and I am sure others on this forum, in saying that I too learned from him. I truly hope that I didn't contribute to his decision.
Cheers.

The multi engined drag bikes and the engineering involved used to fascinate me when I was younger.

Didn't he get a new Yamaha FZ-9? I think so, and I imagine he's spending time on forums for that bike.
He did provide useful content, but frankly I found his condescending attitude toward people who had differing opinions tiring. He was dead wrong on an ECU tuning issue but insisted that us "old folks just didn't get it."

Seriously, I don't get the poo-pooing about red mist and his hurt feelings and his feeling of being under worshipped. It sounds to me that despite his technical genius he was maybe a little thin-skinned. The internet is full of those types and personally I can't/won't cater to someone's ego. Life's too short, contribute, don't contribute, but take your butt-hurt somewhere else. Cheers!

Hey folks, I only shared Red's comments on why he left because others asked what was up. I appreciated RM's honesty when I asked why he was leaving (he contacted me to see if I could close out his membership). He simply chose to no longer contribute here, minus any drama like announcing to the forum that he was leaving, looking for sympathy or whatever other reactions people feel they need when posting up such announcements.
