[attachment=1608][attachment=1607]Is anyone experiencing the same problem of the headers discoloring right at the engine and then progressing downward? The pictures are of each outside header on the right and left sides. My local dealer is trying to contact Honda to see what they say.

Have you tried polishing out those marks? I think everyone's 2013 discolors to one degree or another. Shine 'em up and it comes back. Lucky Deluxe owners don't have the issue.

OPTIGLANZ! You can purchase the stuff on Amazon.com for $28. It comes from Custom Choppers in the UK (free shipping). I was turned on to this cleaner on a different thread. In short, the stuff works. Spray it on, leave it on for 1 to 2 minutes and rinse it off with cool water. All of the gold/brown tarnish is gone. I did mine 700 miles ago and the pipes still look perfect.

OK. you got me. I just ordered the Optiglanz. I had sworn off trying to keep the headers shiny, but what the heck, one last try.

I suspect you will be impressed. This stuff works so well, I ordered a second bottle immediately following the first application. I'm old. I have found products in the past that work well and when I run low, I go to reorder or find the products and they are no longer available. I didn't want to take the chance with this stuff.

I think the headers are coated with some sort of material. They are not just dis colored but looks like some of the coating is pealing off. That can't be right. I understand that the headers will tarnish and turn brownish but that is not the problem.

The headers are coated with a protective film that the dealer is supposed to wash off prior to running the engine. If they skipped that process, what you see pealing may be the remnants of that film.
Mine are simply turning a uniform gold colour, so my dealership must have washed the headers properly. I am, however, considering ordering the Optiglanz cleaner. The gold doesn't look too bad along with the Spencer Blue tank, but the Canadian model already has so many colours going on, that it might be nice for the exhaust to all be a uniform silver colour.

I wonder if it's available in Canada. Sending a liquid across the border might be a problem given the level of security these days.
