Guys, I can't take it anymore, I need a windshield. Also, a BONUS RANT!
#1
I very frequently am on the freeways and long boring streches of road and I'm just...Im exhausted, I need to find a windshield that is just straight up good...but also, not ugly lol...I see most windshields start up above the headlight; Im not 100% sure, but I'm PRETTY sure, that i want a windshield where it also covers the sides of the headlight, just slightly. Its just...guys, its so infuriating that we can't get certain parts from Honda lol...

Want a sissy bar for the old lady? NOPE, fab one up yourself.

Windshield? haha forget you guys, you're gonna have to get a universal one.

Saddlebags? LOL Yeah right! Maybe one day after you relocate your tail lights. Oh but...you need to fab up a bracket for that too, we aint gonna help you there.

Sincerely...Honda

Sorry for the rant lol

One more thing...I don't miss my old sportster AT ALL...BUT...I certainly DO miss how they had an attachment for every purpose on every bike. How can honda do this to us?

Man..there's a bazillion parts and accessories for this bike, just not from Honda. One of the great things about this forum is that we can find out all about them. Don't worry so much that it says "Honda" on them.

As for my personal taste, I think that installing non-factory accessories on the CB is in keeping with the whole "retroness" thing -- there weren't a lot of factory accessories available in the 1970s either.

The Comet fairing is very popular, looks good and works as designed

Three fairings come to mind; the Baby Bear - DART flyscreen, the Mama Bear - National Cycle Deflector Screen, and the Papa Bear National Cycle Street Shield.

National Cycle makes several shields that fit the CB1100 from itty bitty to huge. Here's my 13 with the middle size shield and other acc.

Street shield EX, tourmaster elite saddlebags and tank bag, Nelson Rigg tail bag. All goes on or off in seconds. no relocation of turn signals.

Here's a thread showing the Plexifairing

Love my Puig screen. Inexpensive and very easy to mount or remove. Takes the wind blast off your chest and little buffeting.

I just this morning ordered the Comet fairing and smoked WS for my '13 from Mr T. I think it complements the bike nicely.

I'm usually not a big fan of altering the look of a bike to make it into something it's not, but I do like the tasteful choices you made, Ferret.

I also have a Honda NT for longer trips and touring, but who knows, maybe I can do both, local short trips and longer rides as the mood suits me with just the CB?!

To keep from being exhausted you're going to need a proper windscreen, not these little bikini or sport fairings. National Cycle will be one of your better bets. You can get them with lowers or not. Back in Minnesota I opted for the lowers and never looked back. But. The big screens suck gas as they are aerodynamic as a barn door.

Ideally the old Vetter Quicksilver would be a great fairing for this bike. I had one on my old 550 and my mileage went up. Decent protection and pockets!

I went with the smaller NC windscreen, keeps the wind off the chest and that is about it. No long rides so I can't say anything about endurance.

If Honda provided all those accessories we'd be bitching about how expensive they are and getting aftermarket stuff elsewhere. Smile

I got the National Cycle Deflector DX (quick-release version). If you want something to keep you out of the windstream, this thing is like riding in a vacuum!
