They spec it every 8,000, but most of my riding is commuting at 70-80 mph for 45 minutes at a time so I stretched it a bit.

Just curious where the valves still within spec at 16,000 miles? What I meant was the plugs and valves looked so good at 8,000 miles I decided to wait 16,000 miles until I got to 24,000 to do it again. Should get there in a couple months so I'll let you know how they look then. Just got done checking the valves at 21,000 miles. They were all exactly the same as they were at 8,000, pretty much right down the middle. The plugs looked like new as well. I think I'm going to push the valves and plugs out to once every 16,000 miles.

Makes me wonder what I am doing wrong. Must stop gunning it through the corners, maybe that's the answer. One of the great things about this forum. Not only do we get to see everyone's personal variations on a bike we love, but also great scenery, from around the world, to go with them!

Ptero..that's how a motorcycle should look IMO. Lean and loaded at the same time. How cool is that? Neat pics!

Yeah, it's really great to see what everyone does and what farkles are out there and what vendors they are available from so we all can spend a ton of money. In only three months you guys already cost me 1K with probably another 6 or 7 hunnerd to go!

The internet is the 2nd best invention ever behind the wheel imo and it has cost me 10s of thousands of dollars.

Thanks, ferret, I appreciate your comments. 42500 on the clock now and another 3000kms in the next two weeks in company with Cormanus, to Phillip Island for the MotoGP. Heavy rain forecast for the start (tomorrow) and then showers for the next few days. We are planned via Falls Creek with temps +2C max and -2C min with some snow showers. Hope the lad brought his warmies . Cheers.

Ptero..stay safe and have fun. Phillip Island should be a good time. The race for second in the championship should be a good one. Right now my money is on Lorenzo.
Do you wear rain gear over your full leathers?

Yes, I agree, this may be a "dead rubber" as far as the world championship is concerned but consider; MM will want more wins, it's in his DNA, and now if he goes hard it's not a problem for him. Lorenzo, Pedrosa and especially Rossi want wins and second in the title race. Yamaha wants wins and so does Honda. Dovi and his Duck could, and want to, do better. Do we need any more than that to feed our thirst for two wheel excitement. I can hardly wait to watch the quals and races.
Moto3? It's on a knife edge. Death or glory there. I wish all the best for Aussie Jack but after this week I wonder, has he got it? First into the final turns and then FIFTH!!!! Can it be a Marquez family double this year? Whoever wrote these scripts must pick up the Oscar. I'd ride through a big brown storm to watch MotoGP Phillip Island. Cheers Sorry guys, a little off thread topic . |
