Handlebar Risers

Just installed [url=https://twistedthrottle.com/shop/ergonomics/handlebar-risers-barbacks/sw-motech-handlebar-riser-kit-to-fit-22mm-handlebars-for-many-aprilia-bmw-honda-kawasaki-ktm-suzuki-triumph-yamaha-models-25mm-rise-silver/]these on my '17 EX today. Super easy install.

They don't list the CB1100 under the fitment section, but these fit with no cable adjustment required.

Here are a couple of pics for those who are considering these as an option.

Not sure I'd want that type of fitment....is that just empty space where the bottom of the riser meets the curve? Seems if that is not flush than an emergency stop would put much more pressure on the 4 bolts and that could be a lot of force for those to handle. I guess abs would mitigate that.

The fit on the bottom does leave empty space. I'd prefer not to have it that way as well, but wasn't able to find any better options. Right or wrong, I have some faith in the folks at SW-Motech in terms of product design so was willing to go with this based on that.

I wonder if it improves a position on cb1100rs. Ideally I wanted to install a handlebar from EX.

I did, until I installed a set of "pull back" risers.

On the contrary, more upright and my back suffers. I got the RS partly because of the forward riding position, which is surprisingly sporty. It also reminds me that I need to maintain those upper body muscles, so I don't lean on the handlebar

No, the cables were ok, went ok, no problem. I have the RS Modell. If the cables on the EX would be the same length as on the RS, the combined with the risers the EX would have cable length problems.
The risers from Voigt, Germany, are super nice quality and the parts are legally tested and approved, which is of quite some relevance for me.

I assume that is the reason for most who do that modification, yes.
With the risers the modification could be re-done in a couple of minutes.
The risers are cheaper.
Also, the risers are available in different varieties:
with offset, or without.
as far as Im concerned I wanted that easy re-built option and I wanted to see which riser would do best for me. So, I found out that rise up and offest back is perfect - perfect for me.
And, last but not least, I have a grip heating system, that is built-in my handlebars: https://www.coolride.de/
All in all, switching for another handlebar was not an option for me.
