Forum Page Changes?
#1
So, i see sidebars with "recent posts" and a couple of other headings on the right side. Is a new look to the forum or did I accidentally change some sort of view settings at my end?

I'm seeing the same thing. So, unless you changed my settings too (and I wouldn't put it past you), I think they're new.

Yea a real surprise when I logged on this morning. It's the 2015 look I guess.

Lol. The only hacking I do is after a particularly strong inhaling of a cigar.

Not in love with the new look, though. It's probably great on a regular PC monitor with under 50 year old eyes, but the type is a bit small for my taste on my iPad.

You can minimize all the windows that appear on the side, including the "Forum Sponsors", "Recent Posts" and "Statistics" by clicking on the "-" button to the right of each column's title. I don't know if that will increase the size of what remains, however.

Those minimized take up same amount of width, they just don't show up, so no change in print size on my Ipad which is about 2/3 the size it was on the old format.

I most often view this site on my laptop or Android phone. On the phone, it's always been a matter of increasing the size so only a portion of the page is viewable. On the laptop, I use a mouse with a scroll wheel. If I hold down the "Control" button and roll the scroll wheel, it changes the size of the font. However, while enlarging the font, it makes everything taller and narrower. Shrinking the font widens it across the page. Not ideal in either scenario but playing around with it might provide you with some level of compromise if you're able to do something similar on your iPads.

You can put two fingers on the ipad, pushing them apart and make font bigger, but you would have to do it for each thread.

Yes indeed, the new year brings new changes. I was going to put up an announcement, but at this time I'm still working through a few settings.

Note that the content sidebar will show up by default , but there is a small arrow at the top of the column that you can use to toggle the sidebar on and off.

All the best,
Guth
