Hi fiscy, Happy new year! I have to say it has only gotten better sounding with use. Looks-wise, I have no complaints, but I keep my CB in the garage. I have 890 miles on the bike now and I put it on somewhere around 150 miles. I get lots of compliments on it and no regrets on the install. I know the miles are low but I had back surgery(L4-L5 Microdiscectomy) on the 22nd and was avoiding riding prior to the surgery since I don't think I could have picked up the bike if I dropped it. I just got the ok from the Dr to get back to the usual routine today. Getting out on the CB this week!
Cheers!

Whats even better is that you get to ride while poor suckers like me only get to lift up the cover on the bike and pray for a quick return to spring. At any rate, thanks for the reply and enjoy your bike to its fullest...

If you don't wanna spend too much money then yea, yoshi slip on would definitely be my first choice. Looks better than stock for sure. You can get a Yoshimura RSCV exhaust from here. http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/yoshi...b1100-2013

I've had the carbon version for a year, roughly 13,000 miles. Im happy with fitment, construction, quality, tone. Its not the best build I've seen, but its more than acceptable for the price. If I paid staintune prices I might question the quality, but for what it is its great, I'd go this rougte on another bike. The pipe has changed color evenly with the header, so it all looks good yogethet as its turned a sort of bronze. Unlike some I don't mind the color change. Tone, (for the carbon version, I'm assuming the stainless will be a little different) is very deep/mellow, not too loud to bother me or those around, but still very enjoyable. You'll get the occational alarm chirp from cars but its just bassy, not ear piercing like some sportbikes. I've never heard it with the included silencer other than at idle, but it made a difference then. Fit is a little tricky in that you have to add a center stand stop, but its not very difficult and comes with english instructions. Mine was noticibly lighter in hand than the stock pipe. My only hesitation is I think I've lost some ground clearance from the pipe being wider up the pipe neer the footpegs than the stock unit. I've lightly dragged my pipe but I've also rubbed off a bit of length on both peg feelers. You'll have to decide how aggressive you want to ride. If you were planning on removing the peg feelers to gain more clearance know this exhaust will drag. I *think* that the feelers will touch first and the pipe will only scrape if you lean far enough that the pegs start hinging/folding up, but I have no real way to be sure. On the stock tires I had zero chicken strip and never rubbed the exhaust, this only happened with my current PR3's which have a different profile so who knows.

Interesting... CB 400F decals and paint on that CB 1100 looks pretty good.

I also have the RS-3 slip on installed. I also installed the noise silencer so I don't really know how it sounds without. I am happy with the sound level. Not too loud. I think it is a well built exhaust for the money.

Hows the fit, sound, and quality...thanks for any input Fit and finish is excellent and just a few minutes to install. It comes with a quiet insert that to me was almost as quiet as stock. I run mine without the insert and in my opinion is a much deeper sound without being irritating at all. I believe throttle response is improved and the slight hesitation I experienced around 3600 - 4000 RPM with the stock exhaust is gone. The biggest performance gain is probably from the much lighter weight compared to the stock muffler. I have dyno'd mine and the EG ratios are perfect throughout the RPM range without any fuel controller. |
